Bauchi Police arrest 2 teenagers for alleged homosexuality, unnatural act

Two teenagers, Mohammed Saifullahi, aged 16 and Shaibu Sulaiman, aged 17, have been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for alleged committance of unnatural Offence of homosexuality.

The arrest of the suspected homosexuals was announced in a statement by the Command PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, copies of which were made available to Journalists on Thursday.

According to him, “On 8th January 2026 at about 2130hrs, a concerned father reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Tilden Fulani, that his son (name withheld), aged 8, was deceitfully lured with sweets and tiger nuts by one Mohammed Saifullahi, aged 16, who subsequently had homosexual intercourse with him on multiple occasions.”

The PPRO added that, “Upon receipt of the report, a team of Detectives was quickly dispatched to the scene. The suspect was arrested, and the victim was moved to the hospital for medical examination.”

Nafiu Habib added that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to having been engaged in the act for over three years and named his mentor as one Shaibu Sulaiman, aged 17.

He further stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was introduced into the homosexual activity by Shuaibu Sulaiman, who was also arrested.

The PPRO added that Shuaibu Sulaiman revealed that his first time of committing the unnatural act resulted from sharing a two-in-one bed with a friend, specifically Saifullahi Mohammed, which resulted into the unnatural act.

According to him, “It was also discovered that the first suspect, Saifullahi Mohammed, had sexually violated four minors between the ages of 7 and 10.”

Consequently, all the arrested suspects have confessed their culpability while investigation is underway, after which the suspects will be profiled and charged to court upon completion.

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, was miffed by the unfortunate act and warned other like-minded individuals to repent from such behavior, as anyone arrested under such circumstances will not be spared.

The CP also called on parents and guardians to be inquisitive about the whereabouts of their wards.
