Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of three suspects for allegedly committing the offence of culpable homicide in Miri village, an outskirts of Bauchi metropolis.
The development is in a sustained clampdown on all forms of violent crimes and other criminalities within Bauchi State.
The offence was reported to have been committed on 11th June, 2026, in Miri Village, Bauchi LGA.
The suspects arrested by the operatives attached to ‘B’ Division GRA on 13th June, 2026 at about 1300hrs are: Rabiyu Sanda, 16-year-old; Muhammad Abubakar, 21-year-old; and Suleiman Nura, 21-year-old, all of Miri Village.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects conspired and committed the act on 11th June 2026 following a misunderstanding with the deceased.
During interrogation, the trio voluntarily confessed to the offense and provided useful statements that assisted the investigation.
In line with standard procedure, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) for discreet and thorough investigation, upon completion, they will be charged to court accordingly.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the investigation be pursued diligently to ensure justice is served.
He further reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, and urged members of the public to avoid any violent confrontation and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, as contained in a statement signed by SP Nafiu Habib, Police Public Relations Officer .
