The Auwal Gotal led Management Board of Bauchi State owned Football Club, Wikki Tourists FC, has been sacked by the State Commissioner of Youths and Sports Development, Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin.
The Commissioner was reported to has approved the disengagement of members of the Management Board of the Club with immediate effects.
The old Management was instructed to immediately handover the affairs of the Club to the newly appointed Management Board.
The Commissioner used the opportunity to call on teeming supporters of the Club to exercise more patience with the recent results of the team, but assured them that the Ministry is doing everything possible to ensure better outing of the team in its subsequent matches.
In another development the State Commissioner has approved the appointment of new Management Board members into the State owned team Wikki Tourists to strengthen the administration of the Club.
The Commissioner of Youths & Sports Development Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin stated the new Management Board members are:-
Salmanu Abubakar- Chairman, Ishaka Babamaji-Vice Chairman, Buhari Adamu Muhammed-Team Manager, Adamu Idris Pali, Secretary (Civil Servant).
The other members are: Dauda M. Chiroma, Bashir Ibrahim Idris, Yahaya Idris Sulaiman, Bilyaminu Abubakar Chindo, Kabiru Mijinyawa, Yawale Inuwa, Saleh Ahmed Muhammed, Ahmed Nasiru Elshaik, and Ali Saleh.
The Commissioner stated the appointment was based on merit and the outstanding performance of the newly Management Board members in the sports circle, as contained in a statement by Bashir Shehu, Information Officer, Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.
