A former staff of the National Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abuja, Ishaku Madaki, has declared his intention to contest the ticket of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Bogoro State Constituency of the Bauchi State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
He made the declaration of intent when he visited the Secretariat of the PDP in Bogoro, headquarters of Bogoro LGA alongside his teeming supporters.
While making the declaration, he stated that his intention is to ensure that the area enjoyed a better representation in the next Assembly in order to attract more development for the people.
He added that though the area has witnessed development strides by successive administrations, he wants to do more because according to him, “our people deserve more and better.”
Ishaku Madaki stated that, “What we are doing here today is answering the calls of the people beckoning on me to aspire. They have seen the little we were able to do as citizens and have interest in spurring us to do more if given elected office.”
He stated that, “Yeah, we started our Foundation with the homage to all our Chieftaincy title holders across the LGA. All the District Heads. We also visited so many hospitals to donate drugs and we empowered the youths. If you look at your back, you will see some youths here with my T-shirt.”
He added that,”We organised friendly football match in all the 10 wards, but in particular to them, we give them jerseys and match football. And last year December, we embarked on a visitation where we moved to all these hospitals, pediatric hospitals. We went to Tundun Barram to donate drugs to help them and to staff so that we can impact positively on my people to come out from poverty and other things to assist them.”
“So, we moved to Mbar and so on and so forth. All our mind and hope is that my intention is to add value to my community in Bogoro local government, to give them a good life and a good stay. That’s my purpose for my community, he stressed.
He added that, “Because of so many activities that I did, so many people’s calls. So I feel like, if your people will be calling you, I am supposed to answer their call because I will serve my community to bring more development in my community.”
“They have seen my handwork as they impacted on them, so they are calling me to come, go the Assembly and add value to governance. They look at it like they need somebody to represent them well, to bring more value to them. So I have answered their call. Different communities like youths, women and other elders in the community,” he added.
Various speakers at the declaration of intent, commended him for taking the bold steps of coming out to declare interest in securing the PDP ticket for the general election in 2027.
The speakers urged the PDP EXCO to critically peruse the papers and activities of all the Aspirants in order to bring out the best amongst them expressing confidence that their Aspirant will beat the rest.
