Four brothers nab for allegedly killing a watchman

Four brothers have been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly causing the death of a night watchman thereby committing the offence of culpable homicide.

The confirmation of the arrest was contained in a statement signed by the Command PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, made available to Journalists on Thursday.

The four brothers, who are now be held for the alleged culpable homicide are: Chidawa Ahmadu 25 years old and the eldest; Yusuf Ahmadu, 22 years; Adamu Ahmadu 20 years and Usman Ahmadu, 15 years and the youngest, all of Bediri Village via Jumbori, Jama’are LGA.

According to him, “On Sunday 15th March, 2026 at about 0355hrs, hunters’ personnel reported at Jama’are Divisional Police Headquarters that there was an attack on three private guards at Idris Waziri Kwamawa’s farm, Jama’are.”

The DPO was said to have led a patrol team to the scene and found Bello Búra, 40 years, laying dead while two guards, Sani Hussaini 32 years and Gidado Mohammed 32 years, both of Jadauvi village, Gamawa LGA, were variously injured.

The Victims were taken to General Hospital, Jama’are, where the Doctor confirmed Bello’s death, and his corpse was released to the family for burial in line with Islamic injunctions.

The PPRO added that Six suspects were initially detained; while the four siblings were arrested and are now being held for culpable homicide.

According to the Command, at the point of arrest, he following items were also recovered from them, including Three cutlasses, two sticks, and a torchlight.

While investigation continues, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, urged residents of the villages to remain vigilant and report security concerns to the nearest police station or via the Command’s Control Room at 08151849417.
