Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Friday, led other top Government functionaries including the Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Auwal Jatau, the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abubakar Y to join the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, to observe the two raka’at prayer for the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr at the Central Eid praying ground in Bauchi.
The Governor was in the midst of thousands of Muslims who converged at the Eid praying ground to be part of the Eid-el-Fitr prayer to mark the end of the 30 days fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Imam Ahmed Baban Inna, who appreciated Allah for the opportunity to witness another Eid-el-Fitr prayer.
In his Khutuba, (sermon), before the two raka’at prayer, Ahmed Baban Inna, charged Muslims on the need to ensure sustainabiloty of the various positive deeds and religious supplication beyond the month of Ramadan.
He stressed that it is only by doing so that their acts of ibadah will be completed and accepted by Allah (SWT).
The Clergyman also charged parents to pay special attention to the proper upbringing of their children and wards in order to have a better society that is crime free.
He also called for continous and fervent prayers for prayers for peace to continue to reign in the State and Nigeria Generally in order to witness more growth and development.
At the end of the prayers, the Governor and his team proceeded to the Government House while the Emir and his team went back to the Palace to continue the celebration.
While speaking at the Government House, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, appreciated Allah for the successful completion of the 30 days Ramadan fasting.
The Governor also commended people of the State for going about their normal engagements without any reason to cause crisis anywhere in the State in spite of several reasons to do so.
He particularly thanked the residents for standing by his administration in face of recent security challenges in Alkaleri LGA, assuring that government is working with security agencies to chase away the bandits.
Bala Mohammed however urged the residents to be security conscious always and report any questionable movements to the nearest security Post stressing that security is everyone’s business.
The Governor also commended the People of the State for always believing and supporting his Administration and that Government would continue to execute developmental projects across the State to enable the People benefit.
The Governor then requested members of the general public to continue to support security agencies with useful information on the activities of criminals in order to ensure that peace continue to reign in the State.
The Governor later hosted government functionaries and other important dignitaries to breakfast to formally end the 2026 Ramadan fast.
