Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdukadir Mohammed, has led a delegation of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to stand in solidarity with his counterpart, Governor Seyi Makinde following the recent abduction of schoolchildren in the Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Alongside Mohammed were several top leaders of the APM, including the party’s National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, and the Bauchi State Chairman, Auwal Isa.
Others were Party’s Bauchi gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, his running mate, Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar, and other key party stakeholders.
Speaking, Governor Mohammed expressed deep concern over the situation, extending the heartfelt sympathy of the APM family to Governor Makinde and the people of Oyo State.
He described the targeting of innocent young schoolchildren as a tragedy that strikes at the heart of the community, emphasizing that tackling such security threats requires a unified, non-partisan approach from leaders across the country.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the closed-door meeting, Mohammed noted that the delegation’s goal was to offer real support during an incredibly difficult moment.
He further stressed the importance of unity among political leaders when dealing with national security challenges and assured Governor Makinde of their full goodwill and prayers for the safe return of the children.
He, however took a moment to congratulate Governor Makinde on securing his party’s presidential ticket for the upcoming elections even as he commended his leadership style in Oyo State, as contained in a statement signed by Lawal Muazu Bauchi, Governor Bala’s New Media Aide.
