Niger  Police  Organize 2-Day  Forensic, Fraud Investigation  Training  To Boost Investigative Capacity, Professional  Development.

The Niger State Police Command organised a two-day training programme on forensic and fraud investigation aimed at enhancing the investigative capacity and professional competence of Police personnel across the State.
 The training programme held at the Police Officers’ Mess, Minna on 16th and 17th June, 2026 for officers drawn from Area Commands, Divisions, and various investigative units of the Command.
The workshop, organized in partnership with HRH Erelu Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, is designed to equip officers with modern investigative skills in forensic analysis, crime scene management, and financial fraud investigation.
 The initiative seeks to improve efficiency in crime prevention, detection, and the administration of criminal justice through intelligence-led, scientific forensic analysis and technology-driven investigative practices.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips, ably represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, DCP Aminu M. Garba, welcomed the facilitator, resource persons, senior officers, and participants to the training programme.
In his address, the CP expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, for his unwavering commitment to capacity development and institutional reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that the training aligns with ongoing efforts to build a knowledge-driven, technology-compliant, people-centred and professionally competent Police Force capable of addressing emerging security challenges.
He emphasized that modern policing requires not only courage, discipline, and dedication but also continuous learning, innovations, and mastery of contemporary investigative techniques.
 He added that the acquisition of forensic skills remains essential in combating evolving crimes such as digital fraud, financial crimes and other organised criminal activities.
The CP urged participants to maximize the opportunity presented by the workshop, by actively engaging with the facilitators and applying the knowledge gained to enhance investigative efficiency and strengthen public confidence in policing.
Delivering her keynote address, the Convener of the programme, HRH Erelu Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, commended the Inspector General of Police for supporting initiatives aimed at producing highly skilled investigators capable of uncovering the truth through forensic expertise.
ByShe also appreciated the Niger State Police Command for creating the enabling environment and encouraged participants to actively engage throughout the training period.
During the training programme, resource persons such as Prof. Suleiman Aruwa, Dr. Stacy Ann Nwodo, and Mr. Jimmy Patrick delivered lectures on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing, Crime Scene Management and Evidence Gathering Techniques, Guidelines for Conducting Forensic Financial Investigations, Investigating Public Sector Fraud Frame Work, Techniques and Practical Approaches as well as Cyber and Digital Forensics for Police Investigators.
Participants received practical insights on critical topics such as money laundering typologies, terrorism financing sources, asset recovery, crime scene management, evidence preservation, chain of custody, and best practices in forensic financial investigations.
The training was highly interactive, with participants actively contributing during sessions. Officers described the programme as insightful and impactful, expressing appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force and the organizers for the opportunity to strengthen their investigative capabilities in line with contemporary policing realities.
The two-day workshop underscores the commitment of the Niger State Police Command to continuous professional development and the adoption of modern policing strategies to enhance service delivery and public safety.
The workshop ended with a  presentation of certificates of participation to over two hundred participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training programme.
