Niger Assembly Speaker Applauds Army for successful Rescue of 70 Kidnapped Victims

The Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has applauded the Nigerian Army for taking the lead in a successful security operation that resulted in the rescue of about 70 kidnapped victims in parts of Niger State.

The Speaker also commended the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies for their strong collaboration and support, which contributed to the success of the operation carried out in Mariga Local Government Area and other parts of the Niger North Senatorial District.

Rt. Hon. Barr. (Dr.) Sarkin-Daji described the operation as a major relief to affected communities, noting that the bravery and professionalism of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies led to the neutralization of several bandits, the arrest of suspected criminals, and the safe rescue of many innocent citizens who had been held captive.

According to him, the rescue of about 70 kidnapped victims clearly demonstrated the renewed commitment of the Nigerian Army and security agencies to ending banditry and other criminal activities in the state.

The Speaker stated that the success of the operation has restored hope and confidence among residents, especially those in rural and vulnerable areas who have suffered repeated attacks and abductions.

He further praised the officers and men of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their sacrifices and dedication, acknowledging the dangers they face daily in the line of duty to protect lives and property.

Speaker Sarkin-Daji reassured the Nigerian Army and other security agencies of the continuous support and cooperation of the Niger State Government, stressing that the government remains committed to strengthening security efforts across the state.

He called on the people of Niger State to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, while also encouraging them to support security agencies by providing useful and timely information that can assist in preventing crime and sustaining peace.
