The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips, on 1st September 2026, received the Commander, Naval Base Kainji, Nigerian Navy, Captain I. O. Odache and his entourage on a courtesy visit to the State Police Command Headquarters, Dutsen-kura, Minna.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Spokesman of the State Police Command SP Wasiu Abiodun and made available to Journalists on Tuesday in Minna.
In his remarks, Captain Odache (NN) appreciated the Commissioner of Police and the Command’s management team for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.
He explained that, due to official engagements and work exigencies, he was unable to formally pay a visit earlier. He expressed delight at the opportunity to finally visit the Command and conveyed the goodwill and warm regards of the Chief of the Naval Staff.
The Naval Commander stated that the visit was primarily aimed at familiarizing himself with the leadership of the Niger State Police Command and further strengthening the existing relationship between the Nigerian Navy and the Nigeria Police Force, particularly along the Kainji axis.
He commended the Police personnel serving in New-Bussa, Wawa and particularly the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and Area Intelligence Officer (AIO), for their professionalism, cooperation and commendable contributions to security in the area.
He noted that the prevailing security challenges require stronger inter-agency cooperation, intelligence sharing and coordinated operations.
He therefore solicited enhanced synergy, collaboration and partnership between both security agencies, with a view to consolidating existing efforts and achieving sustainable peace and security across the State.
In his response, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips, warmly welcomed the Naval Commander and his entourage to the Command.
He expressed appreciation for the visit and commended Captain Odache for his professionalism and gallantry, noting that their previous interactions had further demonstrated his commitment to duty and national security.
He emphasised that security is a collective responsibility, requiring sustained cooperation and effective coordination among all security and law-enforcement agencies.
He stressed that no single agency can independently address the complexities of contemporary security challenges, hence the need for continuous inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing and joint operational efforts.
The CP assured the Commander of the maximum support and cooperation of the Niger State Police Command, particularly in strengthening intelligence sharing, operational coordination and collaboration between the two agencies.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining a robust and mutually beneficial working relationship with the Nigerian Navy, especially in the Kainji axis and other areas of mutual security interest.
He further expressed confidence that the strengthened partnership would contribute significantly to enhancing public safety, preventing crime and sustaining peace across the State.
He appreciated the Commander and his entourage for the visit and wished them a safe journey back to their destination.
