The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips received the Hon. Commissioner of Mineral Resources Hon. Muhammed Qasim Danjuma and his entourage on a courtesy visit on Thursday 8th January, 2026 at the State Police Headquarters Dutsen-Kura, Minna.
The Hon. Commissioner stated that the visit was for two main reasons, first to appreciate and commend the tremendous efforts of the Commissioner of Police and his officers in sanitizing the state, especially the metropolis against criminal elements, and also to introduce the new management of the Ministry, share its renewed vision of transformation with the Command and solicit for synergy, improved collaboration and support particularly against illegal mining activities in the state.
He further stated that some miscreants are hiding under the guise of mining to cause chaos and perpetrate crime in the community,emphasizing that the state is resolute to halt illegal mining which is associated with crime and other vices.
He appealed for the revival of the illegal mining taskforce to aid in enforcing mining laws against offenders, towards ensuring a more peaceful environment and achieving the vision of a new Niger.
The Commissioner of Police in his response welcomed the Hon. Commissioner and his entourage to the Command, whilst expressing his delight at their visit.
The Police Boss also appreciated the ministry for acknowledging the efforts of the Police Command in combating crime, adding that both organizations have similar interest in providing the residents of the state a peaceful environment.
CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman however assured the Hon. Commissioner of improved synergy and collaboration, just as he also admonished the ministry to provide the Police with credible information regarding illegal mining activities for prompt intervention and prevent further damage to property.
