Niger Police arrest 10 suspects for possession of suspended hard drugs

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 10  Suspects  In  Sarkin -Pawa, Munya LGA of the State for  allegedly being in possession of illicit  Drugs /Suspected Cannabis
It stated this in a Crime Bulletin by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement issued and made available to Journalists on Sunday in Minna.
The statement stated further that on 19th-22nd January 2026, based on credible intelligence received, Police operatives attached to Sarkin-Pawa Div in Munya LGA of the State carried out sting operations and stormed some blackspots within Sarkin-Pawa and arrested the following suspects:
Mubarak Aliyu 35yrs, Abubakar Idris 24yrs,  and Kabiru Aliyu 26yrs.
Others, the statement noted includes one Sabiu Mohammed 25yrs, Abubakar Mustapha 26yrs,Aminu Aliyu 20yrs, Anas Magaji 19yr sand Hakilu Haruna 20yrs, all Sabon-gari area of Sarkin-Pawa, in Munya LGA of Niger State
According to the Spokesman of the State Police Command, the suspects were arrested with illicit drugs such as tramadol tablets and about 30 wraps of suspected cannabis.
SP Abiodun, noted that  During interrogation, they allegedly confessed to selling and consuming these illicit items.
He stressed that others arrested include Danjuma Jagaba 35yrs and Alka Samari 38yrs for criminal intimidation and causing grievous hurt.
The Police Spokeman however stated  that  all suspects were charged to court for prosecution accordingly.
