The Niger State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in Minna over allegations of thuggery and in possession of Dangerous Weapons and Illicit Drugs in different parts of Minna metropolitan areas in the State Capital
This was contained in a crime Bulletin issued by the Spokesman of the State Police Command,SP Wasiu Abiodun and made available to Journalists on Monday in Minna.
The statement explained that, “further to the fight against thuggery, on 21/1/2026 at about 10.30pm, Police operatives attached to Central Police Div stormed Sabon-gari market and arrested one Abubakar Umar 28yrs of Siyona area.
The statement explained further that the suspect was arrested with 81 wraps of suspected cannabis and 45pcs of illicit tablets, while on 27/1/2026 at about 11pm, during a raid operation conducted around Saiko, one Idris Ibrahim 20yrs of Saiko was also arrested with suspected cannabis and a long knife.
SP Abiodun however assured that “all suspects are under investigation”.
