Obedient movement donates N25m to 3 schools in Bauchi to Islamic, health education

The Obedient Movement under the leadership of the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Gregory Obi, on Thursday, donated the sum of N25m to three Schools including an Islamiyya School in Bauchi in order to boost education.

The Schools are Milikiya College of Nursing Sciences, Thomas Moore College of Health Technology which received N10m each and Madarasatul Intisharul Islam, Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi
which got the sum of N5m while one its students, Amina Abubakar Ahmed receiving a scholarship to University for her brilliant display.

Speaking at the Islamiyya, Peter Obi said that, “Distinguished members of the management, esteemed teachers, dear students, ladies and gentlemen,
I sincerely thank you for the warm reception.”

“I have listened carefully to your remarks, and I am truly encouraged by how the previous donation of N5 million was utilized—especially in providing essential facilities such as chairs and other learning resources. This is commendable, and I appreciate your accountability and dedication,”he added.

According to him,”Today, my visit is not only to reconnect with you but also to make another meaningful contribution—this time towards scholarships for deserving students. Every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and become someone society will be proud of.”

Peter Obi added that,”I was particularly moved by the concerns raised about insecurity. It is a matter close to my heart. A society that truly cares must ensure the safety and well-being of its people, especially the vulnerable.”

He stressed that, “Our children should be able to live, learn, and dream in an environment free from fear. They deserve a future where their potential is not limited by circumstance, but nurtured with purpose. In support of this vision, I am pleased to announce a donation of N5million to this school, specifically to advance scholarship opportunities and support ongoing development efforts. Thank you, and may we continue to work together for a brighter and more secure future for our children.”

Earlier in his welcome remarks, Proprietor and Head of the Islamiyya, Adamu Umar Jibrin, said that, “The event here is not only a testament of your commitment to rescue our nation, but also a source of inspiration for all of us gathered today.”

He stressed that, “First and foremost, I would like on behalf of the management of this school to express our heartfelt appreciation for your generous donation of N5 million towards the production of tables for the classes and other learning and teaching materials. This contribution has made a significant difference in the learning environment of our school.”

According to him,”It has enabled us to provide our school, our students, with the facilities to drive academic excellence. Your support reflects your dedication to Islamic education and the future of our children. And for that, sir, we are profoundly grateful, Sir.”

The Proprietor added that,”As you prepare for the upcoming 2027 presidential election, I want to assure you, sir, that Madrasatul Sharif Islam, in particular, and all the Islamic schools, we believe we are in your support and we believe in your vision for a better Nigeria. One where every child has access to quality education and security.”

He added that, “We are ready to stand by you and lend our voices to ensure that you emerged victorious in this noble endeavor. However, as you embark on this journey, sir, we would like to plead with you to prioritize the issue of insecurity in your agenda. The safety and security of our children, family, and communities must be at the forefront of your plans.”

According to him,”Insecurity hampers progress and instills fear in the heart of our nation. We urge you to develop a comprehensive strategy that will address this challenge heeadon, ensuring that every Nigerian can live without fear and pursue their dreams.”

He concluded, “Thank you once again for your generosity and being here with us today. We look forward to support you for the upcoming election and business.”

At the Malikiya College of Nursing and Health Technology, Peter Obi commended the management for properly utilizing the N10m given to them for the upgrading and equipping the ICT Centre of the School.

He reiterated that the Country needs more of such Colleges in order to bridge the gap of derth of Health workers at the various health facilities across the country.

Peter Obi, then, on behalf of the Obidient Movement announced donation of another sum of N10m specifically for indigent students who need support to enable them study and graduate as Health Workers.

Speaking earlier, Provost of the College, thanked the Obedient Movement, through Peter for the kind gesture extended to the College stressing that it had gone a long way in assisting the growth and development of the College.

He assured that the donation of the N10m will be judiciously utilized the way he (Peter Obi) has directed to ensure that indigent students benefited from the gesture.

At the Thomas Moore College of Health Technology, Peter Obi stated, “About a year ago, I was uninvited, I only came because of the need to support this kind of specialised institution.”

According to him, “We have twelve of such institutions across the country which we are supporting in one way or another. We need more Health workers in our health facilities, that is the reason we are here. I am impressed with the ongoing development of the institution.”

He then announced the donation of N10m for further developments of the College as well as scholarship to indigent students of the College.

Speaking earlier, Proprietor of the College, Bishop of Bauchi Catholic Diocese, Rev Dr Hillary Dachellem, commended Peter Obi for his unsolicited generosity to the College.

He stressed that the last donation of N10m really supported the physical and academic growth and development of the College making it to rank among the best in the State and subregion.

Hillary Dachellem assured that the donation will be properly channeled adding that by the next time he will pay another visit, he will definitely see a new development.
