Obi, Bala Mohammed Mull Opposition Synergy, National Cohesion

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Gregory Obi, on Thursday, visited Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, stressing the need for unity and cohesion among the political gladiators.

He spoke to Journalists shortly after a closed meeting held at the Ramat House Presidential Lodge, Bauchi with other prominent politicians from both ends in attendance.

Peter Obi said the visit was driven by the need to build bridges across regions and chart a new course for Nigeria’s future.

He stressed that collective action is necessary to address the country’s current socio-economic challenges.

He added that the delegation engaged leaders from the North-East to foster cooperation aimed at creating a more inclusive and effective political direction for the country.

Bala Mohammed, speaking on the outcome, acknowledged that both sides shared common ground on the importance of unity, collaboration, and sustained dialogue among political actors.

He noted that the discussions went beyond regional interests, touching on broader national concerns and the possibility of deeper opposition alignment, while emphasizing that consultations are still ongoing.

The meeting is seen as part of wider behind-the-scenes engagements among opposition leaders, fueling expectations of potential alliances and shifts ahead of future elections in Nigeria.
