Over 5000 students to graduate from FUT Minna, for the 2024/25 session- VC, Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta

Federal University of Technology Minna,FUT has announced the graduation of  over 5,000 students for the 2024/25 academic session on the 1st of February 2026,with 4,438 graduands to be awarded first degrees.
The vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta made the disclosure  at the pre convocation press briefing held at the Gidan Kwano Main Campus of the University on Monday.
He explained that out of the figure,73 post graduates Diploma will be awarded,along with 633 candidates to be conferred with masters Degrees,while 153 scholars will also receive Doctorate Degrees ( PHDs).
Professor Adamu Kuta further acknowledge that, past years have been a remarkable one for FUT, Minna following the notable accomplishments that consolidate the university’s position among universities in Nigeria.
According to him,  the 2026 Times Higher Education, in the  Rankings,FUT,Minna was ranked the 7th best University in Nigeria and emerged as the highest ranked specialised University in the country.
The VC, also  commended the researchers of the University for distinguishing themselves securing the highest number of TETFUND National research Fund ( NRF) in the 2024 grant cycle.
“The University also secured a N1Billion,TETFund Agricultural commercial farm grant to be among ten 10beneficiary. Universities nationwide,stressing that FUTMinna also attracted two major global research grants in 2025 of $3 million ICT Department grant,in addition to £15,000 open access Books grant from the United Kingdom, said Prof Adamu Kuta
He noted that “During the period the university has successfully established the college of Medical sciences and Health Technology, following full approval by the National Universities Commission ( NUC), adding that  already, the pioneer students have  commenced activities in the 2025/2026 academic session.
  Professor Adamu Kuta reiterated  the Universities commitment to academic excellence, innovation, integrity and community service,saying  “that the university will continue to nurture graduates who are solution providers,innovators, and job creators”.
Meanwhile,the convocation has set up one week of spiritual, intellectual and social activities which will include Convocation lecture, Exhibition and project commissioning and Recreational football final on Thursday, 29th January 2026.
