The political movement of the Gubernatorial Candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Bauchi State and the Senator representing Bauchi South, Shehu Buba Umar, has suffered a setback as one his Senior Legitimate Aide (SLA), Hon. Abba Aliyu Tilde has resigned his appointment.
Abba Aliyu Tilde, one of the outstanding Aides to Senator Shehu Buba Umar, resigned citing a breakdown of mutual respect and communication in the office as well as being sidelined even among his own community.
He conveyed his decision to leave in a resignation letter dated 6th September 2026 and addressed to the Senator, copy of which was published across various social media platforms on Tuesday, stating that his resignation takes effect immediately.
Abba Aliyu stated in the letter that he has served “with dedication, loyalty, commitment, and sincere respect” and made every effort to support the Senator’s work.
He, however, stated that he could no longer continue in an environment where his efforts and position were not accorded the necessary regard.
According to him, “A major incident that informed my decision occurred during the Senator’s recent visit to my ward. A meeting was held with people from my ward without any notification to me.”
“Given my position and my connection to the people of the ward, I found this deeply disrespectful and hurtful. I believe that, at the very least, I deserved to be informed and carried along,” he wrote.
Abba Aliyu Tilde added that the incident, alongside other experiences where he felt ignored despite his efforts, made it impossible for him to continue working effectively.
“I have always believed that any working relationship, particularly one involving political and public service, must be built on mutual respect, communication, trust, and recognition of one another’s roles. Unfortunately, I no longer feel that these principles exist in our working relationship,” he stated.
The former Aide stressed that resigning was “the most honourable decision” at this time, noting that he was leaving with a clear conscience having discharged his duties faithfully.
He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and wished Senator Shehu Buba Umar success in his continued service to the people.
