A total of 101 SSS3 students of the Four Gifted Secondary schools established by the Member representing Darazo-Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State, in the House of Representatives, Mansur Manu Soro, are to enjoy payment of their 2026 National Examinations Council (NECO).
The development is following the approval by the Federal Lawmaker for the immediate payment of the fees for the affected Senior Secondary School (SS3) students.
The benefiting students are drawn from the Four Gifted Secondary Schools in Darazo, Soro, Sade and Kafin Madaki.
The disclosure was contained in a statement issued to Journalists in Bauchi on Sunday by the Federal Lawmaker.
Mansur Manu Soro described the initiative as part of his continued commitment to promoting education within the Constituency as a way of giving back to the people who have remained committed and supportive of his political interests.
According to him, the decision followed the successful conduct of a mock examination organised by the Schools two weeks ago, in which 101 Students passed, qualifying them for sponsorship of their NECO registration.
He explained that the Gifted Secondary Schools were established by his office in 2021, alongside the Special Primary School in Lanzai, to provide quality education for talented but indigent students within the Federal Constituency.
He further noted that the tuition-free and merit-based schools have become a model for effective stakeholders collaboration aimed at improving Basic and Secondary education outcomes in Nigeria.
Mansur Manu Soro stressed that, “We shall remain committed to upholding the noble objectives these schools represent for the good people of Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency.”
He also added that his office will continue to support students through various initiatives, including the distribution of free school kits, which has been implemented consecutively for the past six years.
Recall that, the Federal Lawmaker, influenced the opening of a Study Centre of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), in Soro and paid school fees for students of the Federal Constituency who gained admission into the University.
