Niger State Commissioner for Investment and Private Sector Development, Alhaji Aminu Suleman Takuma, has described the commencement of operations by Lincoln Bravos Automobile Company in the State as a major milestone in the implementation of the industrialisation and investment agenda of the administration of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
This is contained in a Press statement personally signed by the Commissioner and made available to Journalists on Wednesday in Minna
Speaking during a visit to the company’s administrative office and assembly facility, where he inspected the first motorcycles assembled in the state, the Commissioner said the successful establishment of the plant reflects the growing confidence of investors in the investment-friendly policies of the Bago – led administration.
Lincon Bravos Automobile Company was attracted to the State through the Ministry of Investment and Private Sector Development in collaboration with the Niger State Development Company (NSDC) as part of government’s strategy to position the state as a leading destination for investment, manufacturing and industrial development.
The Commissioner noted that the investment would create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, promote technology transfer, strengthen local manufacturing, stimulate enterprise development and boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
“The commencement of Lincon Bravos Automobile Company is a practical demonstration that the investment reforms of the Bago administration are producing tangible results. Beyond assembling vehicles and motorcycles, this investment will create jobs, develop technical skills, transfer technology and expand the industrial base of Niger State,” he said.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry to continue attracting strategic investments capable of accelerating economic growth and improving the living standards of the people.
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Alhaji Ismail Waziri, disclosed that Lincon Bravos manufactures durable electric and hybrid vehicles and motorcycles designed for the Nigerian market.
He stated that the motorcycles come with a three-year warranty, while the vehicles carry a five-year warranty. He added that service centres have already been established in Minna, Suleja and Abuja.
Alhaji Waziri also revealed that discussions are at an advanced stage with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council, through the Ministry of Investment and Private Sector Development, to introduce a flexible instalment payment scheme for Niger State civil servants to acquire the company’s vehicles and motorcycles.
The Commissioner assured the company of the Niger State Government’s continued support in providing an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, stressing that the state remains open to credible investors committed to contributing to sustainable economic development.
