The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has harped on politics without and divisive rhetorics in the build up to the 2027 general elections in the State.
He therefore urged citizens to remain patient, united and peaceful in matters of governance, while calling on the people to shun bitterness and divisive rhetoric in their political engagements.
Inuwa Yahaya made the call at the closing ceremony of the 29th edition of the Qur’anic Memorisation and Recitation Competition, organised by the Izala Organisation founded by Sheikh Ismaila Idris Jos, held in Bambam, Balanga South Local Government Development Area of Gombe State, Sunday.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the Governor Commended the organisation for its efforts in nurturing young people spiritually and promoting Qur’anic education and western education at all levels.
He assured the organisers of the state government’s continued support for initiatives aimed at promoting moral values and raising a God-fearing and responsible generation.
The Governor also stressed the importance of public support for his administration, noting that the development recorded in Gombe State over the years was achieved through the cooperation, prayers and support of the citizens.
He therefore urged the people to remain calm and refrain from actions or statements capable of provoking tension, disrupting peace or undermining the stability of the state.
The Governor called for greater cooperation and understanding among citizens, saying collective efforts remain essential to sustaining the development and progress of Gombe State.
He added that the achievements recorded by the state have attracted attention from other states, which are increasingly taking interest in Gombe’s development initiatives.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Council of Ulama of the Izala Organisation, Sheikh Hamza Abdulhamid, appealed to members of the community to continue praying for leaders and to demonstrate patience and perseverance.
He said the Izala Organization has been consistent in educating Muslims that is why it has established schools at various levels and now working to establish a University of it’s own just to sustain the tempo and congratulated the winners of the event at different categories.
The Cleric cautioned against divisive statements and unnecessary conflicts, stressing that political differences should not be allowed to create hatred or animosity among citizens.
He urged the people to embrace dialogue, tolerance and peaceful engagement, saying politics should provide a platform for resolving differences rather than becoming a source of conflict.
In their separate goodwill messages, the chairman of the occasion and Commission of Housing Mohammed Saidu Mohammed and the Guest speaker Engineer Abubakar Bappa all represented commended JIBWIS for giving priority to Education noting that education remains key to every form of development urging them to maintain the tempo for the betterment of Gombe State and the society at large.
The Folo Dadiya, HRH Alhaji Dr Abdullahi Galadima III express gratitude to the organizers for staging the event in his Chiefdom praising the organizers and participants for the success of the event.
Prominent among Dignitries that graced the annual event are; Dr Jerry Damara APC Senatorial flag bearer of Gombe South in the coming 2027 Election, Hon Fatima Binta Bello House of Representative flag bearer of APC Kaltungo/Shongom, Commissioners amongst others, as contained in a statement signed by Joshua Danmalam, Information Officer, SSG Office.
