Bauchi State, Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has urged the Muslim faithful to intensify prayers for peace, security, and economic prosperity in the State in particular and Nigeria in general, especially in view of the prevailing national challenges.
He made the call in a goodwill message to mark the celebration of the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT) for granting the people the opportunity to witness another celebration.
He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to sustaining its development agenda until the end of its tenure, noting that ongoing investments in critical sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure will continue to receive priority attention.
According to him, his administration remains determined to complete ongoing projects and deliver a lasting legacy of development and prosperity for the people of Bauchi State.
He also felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud celebration, calling on citizens to reflect on the virtues of peace, love, honesty, patience, humility, and selflessness exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The Governor described the occasion as a period of spiritual reflection, urging Muslims and all citizens to evaluate their relationship with Allah and one another while striving to promote righteousness, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.
He emphasized that the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) remain a guide for humanity, particularly through his commitment to peace, kindness, generosity, truthfulness, and service to others.
Bala Mohammed called on the people of Bauchi State to continue strengthening the bonds of unity and brotherhood, stressing that the state’s diversity in ethnicity, culture, and religion remains its greatest strength rather than a source of division.
“Bauchi State is blessed with a rich diversity of people and traditions. We must continue to appreciate our differences, reject prejudice, and extend hands of fellowship to one another irrespective of religious or ethnic background. Our collective progress depends on our ability to live together in peace and harmony,” the Governor stated.
The Governor further assured residents that maintaining peace, law and order remains a top priority of his administration, adding that security agencies are working tirelessly to protect lives and property across the state.
He warned individuals and groups who may attempt to incite violence, exploit differences, or undermine the peace of the state that such actions will not be tolerated and that offenders will face the full weight of the law.
While appreciating the continued support and cooperation of the people of Bauchi State, the Governor wished the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, blessed, and hitch-free Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
He prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to guide, protect, and prosper Bauchi State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as contained in a statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado Special Adviser, Media and publicity to the Governor.
