The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), Rev. Dr. David Olusola Idowu, has called on Nigerians across the country to draw closer to God in order to experience His divine greatness and guidance.
Rev. Idowu made the call while delivering a sermon at the Molete Baptist Church in Ibadan, Oyo State. He emphasized that until people align their hearts with God, they may not truly understand His nature or experience the fullness of His power.
Understanding God’s Will, Rev. Idowu stated that moving closer to God enables believers to better understand His nature, know His mind, and ultimately fulfill His will.
Explaining why spiritual closeness is essential at this time, the NBC President reassured citizens that God remains present and faithful through present difficulties. “God will always be on our side, irrespective of the challenges we are facing, when we are closer to Him,” he noted.
In his closing remarks, Rev. Idowu urged Nigerians to cultivate spiritual discipline by purifying their hearts and opening their ears to divine instruction, emphasizing that this is essential for building a God-fearing and peaceful nation, contained in a statement signed Nigerian Baptist Convention, PRO.
