Niger Police advise riverine communities in Agwara, Borgu LGAs to vacate

Residents of the interior villages near Kainji Lake located in two Local Government Councils of Borgu and Agwara Areas  in Niger State have been advised tọ  vacate immediately and return tọ Agwara, New Bussa and Kontagora tọ celebrate the Eid- el- fitr festivities

The Commissioner of Police Niger State Police Command, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, gave the advice in Minna, in response to the approval of their relocation tọ safer ground, by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state on the request by security agencies.

Adamu Elleman explained the move would enable the Police to  concentrate their efforts in a particular place for effective policing, in safeguarding their lives and properties, considering the shortage of manpower at their disposal.

Hẹ   further that explained that  the State  Governor has also Promised tọ provide them with the needed social amenities in such areas tọ have a conducive atmosphere and enjoy a memorable stay before returning tọ their ancestral homes.

The Police Boss, however expressed satisfaction that the current approval tọ recruit 50,000 additional Police officers in the country would  nọ doubt helped tọ reduce the problem of inadequate manpower in the Nigeria Police Force  that would enhance effective service delivery.

The State Commissioner of Police  who said similar recruitment is on going  in the Departments of State Services DSS and Nigerian Army expressed confidence that in the  next two tọ three years they will have enough personnel tọ achieve the desired objective.
