Suspected phone snatchers attack woman, cut off 2 fingers, ear in Bauchi

A middle aged woman is currently laying critically ill and receiving medical attention after she was attacked and injured by suspected phone snatchers.

During the attack, the phone snatchers inflicted serious injuries in the woman while trying to snatch her phone by force.

The incident occurred on Thursday in the evening at Gadau, main Campus of Bauchi State owned Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU), in itas/Gadau LGA of the State.

Reports from the area revealed that the phone snatches, numbering four, accosted the woman and demanded for her phone in an aggressive manner.

While trying to escape from the grips, one of the criminals was said to have drew his sharp knife and cut off two of her hand fingers as he forcefully snatched the phone from her.

Not that alone, the assailants inflicted deep cuts on her face and a part of her ear was also affected, all in the process of snatching her phone.

Residents of the town have raises concerns over the development calling on security agencies to rise up to the occasion, trace the criminals and get them apprehended without delays.

The residents expressed anger that the criminals have been terrorizing innocent citizens unabated in recent times leading to the people living in fear of attack.

Considering that it is a Students town, they demand more security presence in order to protect the residents.

As of the time of filling the report, the woman was receiving medical attention at a Facility in the town before possible referral.

All efforts to get reaction from the State Command of the Police did not yield positive results as the PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib did not respond to messages sent to his WhatsApp number.
