The Niger State Police Command has narrated how On Sunday 1/2/26 at about 8am, joint security team intercepted and engaged some suspected kidnappers/bandits in a gun duel at Mai-Laka village along Bangi-Kotonkoro road.
The State Police Command stated this in a Press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Niger State Police Command SP Wasiu Abiodun and made available to Journalists on Monday in Minna.
The statement noted that during the gun battle, the abductors abandoned some kidnapped victims and fled from the scene, which led to the rescue of about ten kidnapped victims who were from Yauri, Dusai, Dogon-Fadama, and Yabawa villages.
SP Abiodun said, that “some of the bandits motorcycles were also recovered by the team, stressing that clearance operation is being intensified, and monitoring continues .
