Members of the North East Elders and Youths Forum (NEYF), have expressed their collective intention to purchase Senatorial nomination form of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Zone A Yobe East Senatorial District for Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Bini in the 2027 elections.

The initiative brought together youths and elders from the Six North Eastern States led by the National Chairman , Alhaji Salisu Magaji Gombe.

Salisu Magaji stated this on Tuesday at the end of their Executive Council Meeting held in Bauchi, saying that they have contributed money among themselves and the funds would be used to purchase the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Governor Mai Mala Buni on Wednesday.

He explained that the gesture was in recognition of Mai Mala Buni contributions to the Yobe State, North Eastern States ,Nigeria and his unwavering commitment to democratic governance.

According to him, “At this stage of Nigeria’s political development, the country needs Senators like Mai Mala who is a dynamic quintessential, examplary leader , and detribalised Nigerian who can boldly check the excesses of the executive and speak truth to power, regardless of whose interests are affected.”

He added that,”We contributed towards the purchase of his nomination form, not only because he has proven himself as a reliable representative of Yobe East, Zone A and the entire North East, but because he deserves it.”

” We believe Mai Mala can fly the ticket through Yobe East Zone A, but he will also represent the entire North East because of his quality, inclusive leadership and accessibility, he will be accessible to the entire North East, his door will remain open to all to pass their wants and needs through him. We love him to be on that seat also because democracy needs voices of true democrats like his,”he stated.

Salisu Magaji added, “Look at the way he is governing Yobe, he is serving his people well, restoring peace , development and dignity of the common man, he is developing all sectors and restoring people’s hopes on everything called development and the Governance..”

“Look at the way he led the peace and stability in APC , he brought all on board, united the Party and charted the way for Cohesion, understanding and brought sustainable progress into the Party,” Salisu Magaji added.

He added that because of that and in the interest of the country they have no option but to take the decision in order to persuade the Governor to run for the Senate seat in order to offer more services to the State , North East and Nigeria at large.

He stressed that, “Leaders like Mai Mala should not do what they have done to Yobe State, North East and the people of the country and retire home. You have done so much for Yobe State, North East and Nigeria at large and that is why we have put our heads together to take the decision to buy the form for you to contest”.

According to him, “Our group is a Legacy Group consisting of a wide range of stakeholders including Patriots, Professionals, technocrats and artisans who are determined to assist the Governor to consolidate on the legacy of achievements he recorded through examplary leadership, as a mark of honour to Governor Mai Mala who has contributed enormously to the success of the party.”

“Because, his service to the State, North East and the country is being keenly watched by people in both Elders and Youths who have taken it upon themselves to project him further,” he added.

According to him, “We equally understand the Governor’s passion has always been to leave Yobe State better than he met it and this has been largely achieved through the support of citizens and leaders from the Local to the Federal level including members of the Group.,because he is an examplary leader through their selfless initiative”

Salisu Magaji called on the Governor to.heed to their call and accept to contest the senatorial seat in the best interest of the people of North East and Nigeria.
