Bala Mohammed leads Goodluck Jonathan on Inspection Tour of remodeled, upgraded Yankari Game Reserve Facilities

As part of his visit to Bauchi State, former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, on Monday, took a tour of the rehabilitated and upgraded Yankari Games Reserve and Safari.

The former President was led on the tour of the Reserve by the State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, who showed the Special Guest round the facilities which were recently remodelled and upgraded by the State Government in order to make it attractive and a source of internally generated for the Government.

During the tour, Bala Mohammed and the former President inspected key facilities aimed at improving the reserve’s infrastructure, tourism potential and overall visitor experience.

Among the facilities inspected was the newly installed 500KVA solar power farm, designed to provide a more reliable and sustainable electricity supply to the game reserve.

They also inspected the Yankari Museum, which has been refurbished as part of efforts to preserve and showcase the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the reserve.

The delegation further visited the iconic Wikki Warm Springs, one of Yankari’s major tourist attractions sites, where renovation and improvement works have been undertaken by the present administration.

The inspection formed part of activities marking former President Jonathan’s visit to Bauchi, with Governor Bala Mohammed showcasing the administration’s efforts to reposition Yankari Game Reserve as a modern tourist destination capable of attracting visitors, generating economic opportunities and promoting the state’s tourism sector.
