Niger NSCDC deploy 2375 personnel for Eid-El -Fitr

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye has approved the deployment of 2,375 officers and men of the Corps across the State.

They will patrol across the Command Headquarters, Area Commands, and Divisional Offices throughout the state to ensure adequate security during the Eid el‑Fitr celebration in 2026.

The Commandant who spoke through the Public Relations Officer, DSC Abubakar M.R. Muti,  explained that Eid-el-Fitr is a significant Islamic festival which marks the end of the fasting period observed during the holy month of Ramadan, and is widely known as the festival of breaking the fast.

According to Comdt Aniviye, the Corps has the statutory responsibility to ensure the protection of lives and critical national assets.

He emphasized that the Command has put in place watertight security arrangements to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration across the state.

He further disclosed that the deployment of personnel will commence from 18th March, 2026, covering strategic locations before, during, and after the celebration to ensure maximum security and effective crowd management.

Comdt Aniviye also expressed appreciation to the Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR, for his continuous support and leadership in strengthening the operational capacity of the Corps nationwide.

He equally acknowledged the support of the Farmer Governor of Niger State, Umaru Mohammed Bago, for his commitment to security and development in the state.

The Commandant therefore urged residents to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC formation.
