The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has approved the total lifting of restriction on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles within the Minna metropolis between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
This development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, who explained that the decision followed a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation in the State capital and was based on the strong recommendations of the State Security Committee.
According to the SSG, the removal of the restriction is a clear reflection of the significant and sustained improvement in the security landscape of Minna.
Alhaji Usman commended the unwavering commitment and professionalism of the security agencies, as well as the commendable cooperation and understanding demonstrated by residents of Minna throughout the period of the restriction.
He reassured citizens that the administration of farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago remains firmly committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people.
The SSG thereby called on motorcycle and tricycle operators, as well as the general public, to conduct their activities in a lawful, orderly and responsible manner.
Alhaji Usman conveyed the profound appreciation of the State government to the resilient people of Minna for their patience, support and cooperation, which he described as instrumental to the security gains recorded.
