My life is no longer safe in Bauchi – Abdu Maikaba 

Abdu Maikaba, Technical Adviser of the Bauchi State owned Wikki Tourists FC, has alleged insecurity and treat to his life thereby forcing him resign his appointment with immediate effect.

Abdu Maikaba tendered his resignation vide a letter to that effect addressed to the Chairman,

Wikki Tourists FC dated 09 February, 2026.

In the letter, copies of which were made available to Sports Writers, Abdu Maikaba wrote: “I will like to use this opportunity to notify the Management of Wikki Tourist FC of my decision to resign as the Technical Adviser of the Club with immediate effect.”

He further wrote that, “The decision became necessary due to the following reasons: Disunity among different stakeholders of the team which makes it very difficult to achieve the set objectives of the group.”

He added, “Safety reasons: I have received so many treats to my life in the course of carrying out this job from some sections of the fans either through physical attack or through social media platforms, for these reasons I was forced to take the decision to quit after consulting my family members.”

Abdu Maikaba Further wrote,”I will also use this opportunity to thank the Management for giving me the chance to serve in this great Club. I hope my resignation will be accepted.”
