Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State, has approved the setting up of a reconciliation committee to reconcile aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress APC in the just concluded primaries.

The State Chairman of the party Alhaji Aminu Musa  Bobi who stated this in an interview with the Newsmen in Minna, however attributed the successful conduct of APC primaries in the state to the visionary leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

Alhaji  Aminu Musa Bobi explained that the decision to have approved for the setting up of the committee by Governor Umar Bago is to ensure that the party remain intact and formidable in its quest to maintain its leadership role as the most efficient and effective political party in Nigeria and Africa.

He however said the consensus strategy adopted by Governor Umar Bago and APC in Niger state has yielded positive results, saying that they adopted consensus method in 20 out of the 25 Local Government Councils for the House of Assembly seats in Niger state, which had made their work a little bit easier.

According to him, it will also afford them the opportunity to showcase the developmental strided of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago on infrastructural development, education, health, urban renewal, women and youth development, rural transformation, inclusivity and good governance among others.

On the recent judgement of a Federal High Court that allows those who had lost primary elections to defect to other political parties and still be substituted as candidates to participate in the 2027 general elections, the Niger state, APC Chairman described the move as a welcome  development and a landmark judgement , insisting that members of APC stand to benefit from it, because it’s members will not defect to other political parties.

Instead, he said, the APC will benefit from such judgement, stressing that the inability of African Democratic Congress (ADC) to conduct its party primaries in Niger state on Fridays was a blessing in disguise to the APC since it had benefitted the party a lot as some ADC members have started defecting to the ruling APC.

On the 2027 general elections, Aminu Musa Bobi said APC will win all the elective positions and called on people of Niger state to elect their candidates from top to the bottom to ensure their victory at the polls.
