From Kaduna to Sweden, now to England

Written by Timely Post News

Just a year ago, Zadok Yohanna was playing non-league football in Nigeria 🇳🇬 with Ikon Allah FA in Kaduna State.

He left home at the age of 13 to pursue his football dream, and around this time last year, he was still in Nigeria, playing in unrecognized football tournaments across different cities, hoping for a breakthrough.

Then, on June 29, 2025, Swedish 🇸🇪 club AIK Stockholm gave him that opportunity. AIK Stockholm signed him from Kaduna-based Ikon Allah FA for just €750,000 (₦1.1 billion).

Less than a year later, English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League side Brighton have secured his signature. Imagine that! A young boy who was playing street football in Kaduna barely a year ago has now completed a move worth over €28 million (about ₦44 billion). 😱

Now, it’s official: Brighton have completed the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a contract running until June 2031.

The deal is reportedly worth €28 million, with an additional €2 million in add-ons.

No wonder he broke down in tears after signing the contract. Those weren’t just tears of joy… they were tears of sacrifice, perseverance, rejection, hope, and a dream that finally came true.

Grace found him. ❤️🇳🇬

Never look down on your current situation. Keep working, keep believing, and keep trusting the process. Nobody truly knows what tomorrow holds.

Congratulations and best wishes, Zadok Yohanna 🤝🏾
