Niger State government is to consider the Etsugaie road under the Rural Access World Bank-assisted project to ensure easy transportation of goods and services.
The State governor disclosed this when he paid Sallah homage on the Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, at his palace in Agaie.
He also said that the contractor handling the township road project in Agaie will soon continue with the project.
Governor Bago explained that his visit was to share the joy of the Eid-el-fitr with the Emir and the people of the Emirate and reiterated the commitment of both the Federal and State governments to the security and welfare of the citizens, as well as listen to understand their challenges with the view to attending to them.
He also disclosed that the reconstruction of the Agaie general hospital will soon commence, as all that needed to be procured for the completion of the project have been procured
The governor stated further that efforts are being intensified to have a military presence not too far from Dendo Secondary School and that the school would either be merged with Government Girls’ College or they will be situated close to each other in line with the safe school initiative of the federal government.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the reconstruction of the Baro-Agaie road and that of the Jebba-Mokwa-Bida-Agaie-Lapai-Lambata concrete road project and observed that the projects, when completed, would rejuvenate economic activities in the Emirate.
Governor Bago thereby encouraged people of the Emirate, especially the youths, to take advantage of the agricultural potential of the Emirate and the many agricultural initiatives to embrace agriculture, as his administration has plans to distribute tractors, combine harvesters, and other farm implements across the 25 local government areas of the State for the next farming season.
He appreciated the Emir for providing good leadership to the people of the Emirate and for ensuring peaceful coexistence among the people while assuring him of his administration’s continued support.
The Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, thanked the governor for the visit, which he said demonstrates his long-existing love for the people of Agaie, adding that Agaie Emirate will continue to support his administration’s policies and programmes.
The Emir also commended the governor for his various intervention projects in Agaie Local Government Area while also praying for the successful completion of the projects and also successful administration.
