No fewer than 20,000 members of the Niger state chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC ) have so far been captured in the ongoing e registration exercise taking place in all the 25 Local Government Areas of the State .
Niger State Publicity Secretary of the ruling Party , Musa Labaran Sarkinkaji made the disclosure in an interview with the Newsmen at the State Secretariat of the Party in Minna, the state capital.
Labaran Sarkinkaji explained that the e- registration exercise which started on Tuesday this week is expected to last for seven days, adding that meaningful progress has been achieved, as the turn out was very encouraging.
According to him, at the moment they have a total of 8,130 officials of APC in Niger state whom he said have been registered already, stressing that the e registration plans to capture over One million members before the exercise is concluded in Niger State
Labaran Sarkinkaji however stated that the need for members of APC in Niger state to come out en masse/ in large numbers to register and revalidate their membership because with this new e registration of members the old membership status had been rendered invalid.
On e registration, he said, *apart from getting it’s exact number of members and other planning purposes, it is also for employment, political appointments and distribution of social amenities, in addition to supporting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and that of Niger State Independent Electoral Commission ( INSIEC) to effectively plan well.
