A 30-year old man, Abdulmumini Sarki, suspected to be a member of a kidnapping gang has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command.
The arrest was confirmed in a crime bulletin signed and issued by the Command’s PPRO, SP Nafiu Habib, made available to Journalists on Monday.
The PPRO wrote, “The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that on 7th August 2026 at about 2100hrs, operatives of Kirfi Divisional Police Headquarters, acting on credible intelligence, arrested one Abdulmumini Sarki, male, 30-years-old, of Ziriyalo Hamlet, via Tubule Village, Kirfi LGA, Bauchi State.”
He further wrote that,”The suspect was previously declared at large in connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Kidnapping.”
During the operation, the following exhibits were recovered from him, One Boxer motorcycle with Reg. No. GME 224WW, Engine No. 34043X, Chassis No. 62032 and One Itel keypad phone with GLO and MTN SIM cards.
The suspect is in custody and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Bauchi, for further investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.
