The Niger State Police Command has debunked the unfunded rumour of a human trespass to the Kpakungu Burial ground in Minna ,Niger State Capital in an attempt to dig one of the graves to exhume human parts during the week.
The Police Spokesman attached to the State Police Command SP Wasiu Abiodun stated this in a Press statement issued and made available to Journalists on Friday 23rd January 2026 in Minna
According to the statement, “we wish to confirm that on Thursday, 22nd January, 2026 at about 8.15pm, a report was received from Kpakungu burial ground that a dog trespassed through the fence into the burial ground and attempted to dig one of the grave, stressing that during this attempt, the security guard and other neighboring persons attacked the dog and it was set ablaze.
Confirming the report SP Wasiu Abiodun noted that the DPO Kpakungu Div led a patrol team to the scene and ensure that normalcy was restored as the situation attracted a crowd.
According to him, “This is contrary to insinuation in the public that a human crossed to the burial ground to exhume human parts from the burial ground.
Meanwhile, members of the public are urged to disregard such fabricated report which is capable of causing public unrest.
