Some people, believed to be members of the dreaded Lakurawa terrorist group, terrorizing communities in Borgu and Agwara local government areas were reportedly sighted around Zugurma axis of Mashegu Local Government Area, which shares border with Mokwa local council.
It was gathered that the terrorists in their numbers, were seen on their operational motorcycles carrying sophisticated weapons moving freely creating fears within the residents of the community.
The community people were said to be watching them as if they were celebrities while they moved around without fear of attack or confrontation from any quarters.
A resident identified as Malam Sani(other names withheld) has called on the Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and security agencies to assist a matter of urgency take a proactive approach before they eventually launch an attack on the innocent citizens that may result to lost of lives and property in the area.
According to findings, the said Lakurawa terrorists were trying to carry out surveillance activities in order to study the communities within the area with a possible negative intentions.
The authorities concern are yet to issue official statement about the development at the time of filing this report.
